About Chalhoub Group
Michel and Widad Chalhoub founded the Chalhoub Group in 1955 in Damascus, Syria. They opened a store that sold Christofle products. But they moved to Beirut, Lebanon in 1965 because of the limited market and economic problems in Syria. They wanted to expand their business in the Near East and the Gulf region.
Sadly, the civil war in Lebanon in 1975 forced them to move again, this time to Kuwait, where they had another branch. Finally, in 1990, they moved their main office to Dubai, UAE.
Their sons, Anthony and Patrick, took over the company as co-CEOs in 2001. Anthony, the older son, died in December 2018, and Patrick became the President.
